Quick Link Downloads

I happened to pop by my downloads page on this site the other day and noticed that the downloads for my Quick Link plugin for Windows Live Writer had jumped from the low 100's to over 1,200 in the matter of a few weeks!  Wow!  I'm happy to see that so many people are using it.  This is quite a large jump, considering my other plugin (Current Mood Plugin) is in the low hundreds, still.

Like any good cynic, I started doing some research to determine where they are coming from.  I popped onto Google and ran a search to find out if more people than normal were referencing it - thus leading to the higher downloads.  I found that Torres listed it as the #1 plugin he is using.  Thanks!

He'll be happy to know that I've been making some updates to it, based upon some comments by Spike Washburn before it can be uploaded to the Plugin Gallery on the Windows Live Writer page.  Updates include making the initial search page configurable as part of the options, so he won't have to use Google is he doesn't want to.

I'll upload the new Installer within the next few days and blog about the changes/improvements I've made to it at that time.

In any case, happy downloading!  And please, keep the comments coming.

It would be nice if you selected some text, and then did Insert Quick Link that it simply turned that text into a url when you were done searching.

For example, I usually type my entire blog post and then go back and add my links. However, Quick Link seems geared at using it as your are typing. I want to select some existing text and turn that into a href. Make sense?
