Welcome to Samurai Programmer.com.
"The word 'samurai' is derived from the archaic Japanese verb "samorau",
changed to "saburau", meaning 'to serve'; a samurai is the servant of a
lord."
I have found many parallels between the life of a Samurai and the life of a programmer. Their purpose was to serve others - rather than themselves. In the Samurai's case, they served a lord and in the Programmer's case, they serve their user community.
My name is Greg Varveris and I have been developing software in some fashion since I was 10 years old. I started my coding in Basic for the Apple IIe and distinctly remember (among other programs) a rudimentary 3-D maze program taken from an old edition of Code Magazine. These days I have been known to code in everything from Java to ASP.NET to VB.NET to C#. I specialize in extensible solutions utilizing the .Net Framework and a variety of patterns.
This site is dedicated to serving the development community and the user community. If you are a like-minded individual and you would like a blog to be featured on this site, please send me an e-mail (address directly below).
